Islamic Coin

Description
These coins come from a treasure of money, totaling 50 kilograms in weight, that was hidden in seven jars. The first Arabic coin was minted during Abdul Malik Ibn Marwan 685-705 CE. The Arabic monetary system was based on the gold dinar, weighing 4.25 grams, and the silver dirham, weighing 2.91 grams. Treasures such as this one are usually found in the ruins of houses that were abandoned precipitously when an invasion seemed imminent.
