Tombstone With A Relief Of A Young Girl.
Description
The girl in this bas-relief is wearing a tight-fitting, long-sleeved chiton and sandals. Her relatively ornate jewelry consists of two necklaces, one with a pendant, large dangling earrings, and massive bracelets. She holds a branch in her right hand and a dove in her left. The typical attribute for deceased children. The inscription tells us her name: “Habibathe, daughter of Maquet, son of Nurbel”
Material: Limestone.
