Two men are shown here side by side, dressed in the same way, traditionally. The concern for individualization is however reflected in the treatment of the hair and in the object which they present respectively in their left hand, while they maintain their abaya with the right.
The man with the hair covering his ears holds a key and the accompanying Palmyrenian inscription on his left speaks of the “late Tima son of Noran”. The man, whose smooth hair leaves his ears open, holds a book, and the Palmyrenian inscription mentions the “late Mokimo son of Noran”. (*)
