Altar With Dedication Text From Taimarṣu And Shalmallat
Description
This altar bears an image of a right hand holding a bundle of lightning. The altars carry inscription on the top frieze that translates as follows: (*)
”He whose name is blessed forever, the good.
Dedicated Taimarṣu and Shalmallat, because
they called him and he answered them in the
hour of trouble. He made a miracle in the day
of justice, In the month of ʻAyar, AD 214.”!
